St Andrews Has The Most Positive Student Experience in the UK

The results of this year’s National Student Survey (NSS) were published on Wednesday, 10 July and show that the University of St Andrews has the highest student satisfaction out of all UK universities. This is the sixteenth time in eighteen years that the University has cemented its place as a leading institution with positive student experiences.
Participants in the survey (approximately 500,000), answered 26 questions about aspects of education such as facilities, the quality of teaching, as well as academic and mental health support. The press release from the University noted that “St Andrews also came top in the UK for academic support and learning resources” and that it has “the highest positivity score across thirteen subject areas in Scotland.”
President of the Students’ Association Cam Brown, who aims to emphasise effective collaboration during his tenure, commented, “This endorsement by our students reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire community.”
Further acknowledging the benefits of community members working in unison and his facilitative responsibilities, Brown said, “St Andrews is a place where everyone plays an important part in our success. I look forward to continuing to support and deliver for our students.”
Vice-Principal Education (Proctor) Clare Peddie shared Brown’s outlook: “We are delighted once again to have scored so highly for positivity in the National Student Survey. We value the positive endorsement and feedback from our student community, reflecting our commitment to the very highest standards of learning, teaching, and student experience,” Peddie said.
“[The] results are a testament to the collaborative approach of the University, the Students’ Association, staff, and students to ensure a positive learning and teaching environment where students feel supported and can thrive,” she continued.
