St Andrews Awarded Top University in Scotland

The University of St Andrews has been named the top university in Scotland, the second in the UK, in the times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023. Published on 16 September.

The University was also prized with Scottish University of the Year 2023.

In 2021, St Andrews ranked number one in the UK. This was the first time to happen in the almost 30-year history of the Guide, or any UK ranking. No other university has ever been placed above Oxford and Cambridge.

Principal and Vice-Chancellor Dame Sally Mapstone FRSE said: “This is another very welcome endorsement of the quality of research-led teaching at St Andrews, and the hard work of all our staff and students, but they would be the first to say that this is not the week for celebration.

“We will in due course be marking this achievement with all in our community.”
