Police Investigate Attempted Murder After Man Stabbed in St Andrews

At approximately 1:45am on Wednesday 3 December, an attempt was made on a 40-year-old man’s life in a stabbing on Boase Avenue. The perpetrator fled the scene on a bike.
The victim was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with serious injuries, with his condition later described as stable.
Police arrived at the scene within an hour of the incident and stayed until midday, taping off one area near a garden and driveway on Boase Avenue, and another by the junction with Watson Avenue.
Police Scotland launched an investigation into the perpetrator, and by the following day, a twenty-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the attack. He has since been released from custody with an undetermined court date.
According to The Herald, Police Scotland said in a statement: “A twenty-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of a 40-year-old man on Boase Avenue, St Andrews, on Wednesday 3 December, 2025.”
The statement continued: “He was released on an undertaking to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court at a later date. A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
