Goals galore in the Sunday League as both divisions begin to take shape

Goals flew in across both divisions this weekend.
Beavers edged a nine-goal thriller in their clash with title rivals Strokers, reasserting their dominance at the top of the league.
At the other end of the table, Butts Wynderers were set for a relegation six-pointer with Bolton Fondlers until the visitors pulled out at the last minute. A 3-0 walkover leaves the Fondlers rooted to the bottom of the league.
Botswana Meat Commission kept up their unbeaten start to the season thanks to a last-minute equaliser against Spartans — two teams we can expect to be there or thereabouts come what Christmas.
Paqueta Crisps’ hopes of a top-two finish took a hit as relegation-threatened Sheffield Tuesday held them to a 4-4 draw.
There was no shortage of goals in Division 2 as FC BPM and Real Sosobad both ran out 7-2 winners to keep their promotion hopes alive.
Despite whispers from Steve Clarke and Thomas Tuchel’s respective camps, there’ll be no call-ups during the international break and league fixtures will go ahead next weekend.
Botswana Meat Commission could go top with a win in the early kick-off against basement boys Bolton Fondlers, while Beavers will be looking to maintain their perfect start against Paqueta Crisps.
Butts Wynderers will be looking to build on last week’s no-show as they host Strokers under the lights.
As Independent Learning Week looms, it’s still all to play for at both ends of the table.
