According to the results of the 2020 National Student Survey, the University of St Andrews has been named top in the United Kingdom for student academic experience. This is the twelfth time in the past 14 years that St Andrews has held this ranking.
The data released shows that a total of 92.7% of final year St Andrews students who were surveyed gave the university top rankings for the quality of teaching instruction and overall educational experience.
This comes as the University beats Oxford University for second place in the Guardian’s University Guide rankings last year.
The Proctor and Vice-Principal of Education, Clare Peddie, welcomed the achievement.
Speaking of this, she said, “I am delighted by the positive feedback from our student community. This result reflects our commitment to the very highest standards of learning, teaching, and student experience.”
Likewise, President of the Students’ Association, Dan Marshall, spoke positively in response to the data.
Mr Marshall said, “This news is a credit both to the hard work done by the staff at the university, and our unique sense of community.”
Following a strong performance in the recently published Complete University Guide 2021, the University of St Andrews was also named Scotland’s top university and has maintained its place as one of the top three universities in the English-speaking world.
