The Fashion Ration: the week in which everyone takes a little peek at a royal derrière

The Saint’s newest resident fashionista Tasha Cornall offers you a wholesome dollop of news and gossip from the world of fashion, just don’t let the thought of Prince Harry in the nude ruin your appetite!

I’m not going to dwell on the latest display of the Crown Jewels: we’ve all seen the photos. Something like this was bound to happen sooner or later (he’s been so good lately, I was waiting for a slip up), let’s move on to Céline Dion’s topless editorial for V magazine. Yes, that happened.

Far more interesting than Prince Harry’s arse is former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld’s confession that she enjoys a bit of public urination when the mood takes her. There’s something you’d never hear cross the lips of Anna Wintour. In an interview with the Telegraph, Mme. Roitfeld announced that she hates the thought of urinating in nightclub toilets so much that she prefers to go outside and “pee behind a car”. And really, who can blame her? Power couple of the fashion blogging world, Scott Schuman (The Sartorialist and Garance Doré (Garance Doré have been making waves this week. Schuman has asked the owner of rising street-style blog The Campus Sartorialist to change the name of his blog, citing trademark infringement: he says that he trademarked the name ‘Sartorialist’ right back in the early days of his own street-style blog. This month also sees the release of Schuman’s book, The Sartorialist: Closer, his second coffee-table volume packed full of street-style photography in the style made famous by his blog. Meanwhile his girlfriend Doré has been keeping herself busy, being photographed by the one-and-only Patrick Demarchelier for Net-a-Porter’s A/W 2012 campaign (jealous, moi? totally.) and creating a capsule collection with US designer Kate Spade; the former illustrator has even included her own drawings on some of the items in the collection. With top-tier bloggers having bigger readerships than many print magazines and earning a bigger salary through their blogging exploits than many magazine editors, we’ll surely be seeing more and more designer-blogger collaborations. Indeed, Elin Kling of Style by Kling ( is currently designing a denim collection in collaboration with Guess.
